What Is An Anxiety Disorder?
Symptoms of anxiety include feelings of panic, nervousness, social discomfort, and specific phobias. Anxiety is a normal human emotion, however some individuals may feel it stronger than others, which may lead to anxiety disorder—a mental illness that makes people feel a high level of fear or worry.
Individuals with generalised anxiety disorder (GAD) often experience:
- Feelings of fear, panic, or uneasiness
- Sleep difficulty
- Sweaty hands and/or feet
- Unsettled mood
- Unable to remain calm
- Muscle tension
- Painful joints
- Elevated stress levels
- Chronic fatigue
